Ride to Tak Bai-Pattani-Betong

Sharing the best moment riding from Putrajaya-Kelantan-Tak Bai- Pattani-Betong. 3 days 2 nite just simple planning with a few friend from Kelantanese Bikers. Im ride alone from Putrajaya to Kelantan (572km) and meet them in Tumpat, Kelantan. Tumpat is a small border town to the north of Kelantan. All of us together 4 bike.

We enter South of Thailand this time through Tak Bai Immigration Border. Its just across the Golok River (Malaysia called 'Golok River' but Thailand called 'Kolok River' . Tak Bai district inside the Narathiwat province in Southern Thailand. This must be the most porous border as locals from both sides of the river are so interconnected the two towns are almost identical. Most have relatives, friends and business associates from both sides of the river and getting to and fro is a daily affair for the locals. Some Thai Malays even studied in Tumpat or Rantau Panjang.  This is the legal route but Tak Bai and Golok is unique due to historical, family and geographical reasons.

ohhhhhhhh yehhhhh
We can see Tak Bai jetty over there

History: On 28 April 2004, during Thaksin Shinawatra's premiership and in a period of insurgency by Islamic nationalists in the southernmost provinces, 32 suspected gunmen took shelter in the mosque, after more than 100 militants carried out terrorist attacks against 10 police outposts across Pattani, Yala and Songkhla provinces. After a 7 hour stand-off with Thai military personnel, soldiers attacked and killed all 32.The attack was made in contradiction of orders from the Minister of Defence to end the confrontation peacefully, and has been the subject of an international inquiry, which concluded the military used excessive force.

After that, we don't forget to try the original taste of Pattani food. The best view stall here..just next to river, very unique and very delicious...

Nice & rare dohhh.....
